PURPOSE STATEMENT
This web site was created for my patients and their families only. Viewing by others is not restricted but the information must be taken in context with office visits and information given there. This is a simple web site, created by myself for the benefit of my patients. The purpose is to provide patients with information to supplement their office visits, and to provide links to other information available on the World Wide Web.
MISSION STATEMENT
My mission is to provide the best possible medical care for persons with disorders of the internal secretion glands or disorders of metabolism. Pharmacology and Toxicology
Pharmacology/Toxicology is the study of the physiology and biochemistry of the actions of medicines and toxins. It is an area of science that is not the same as Pharmacy.

Endocrinology and Metabolism
Endocrinology and Metabolism is the branch of Internal Medicine which deals with disorders of the internal secretion glands and with metabolism. This includes disorders of or tumors of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, and adrenal glands and the gonads. It also includes disorders of metabolism such as hyperlipidemia (elevated cholesterol or triglycerides), gout, calcium abnormalities and many other disorders of metabolism. It also includes disorders such as osteoporosis and hypertension which may have multiple causes involving both the endocrine glands and metabolism.

Endocrine is pronounced "En'-do-crin."
